History of the company
The information age poses diverse problems and interesting challenges to the modern business world. Rapid technological change has resulted in a world where change is the only constant, where competitive advantages are eroded and maintained only with difficulty, where the strategic and business modus operandi are undergoing paradigm shifts. With the effects of the global economy and the realisation of the global village becoming a reality, companies must negate technological change and circumvent encroachment of the digital divide in order to remain sustainable and competitive.

ProDG The idea for ProDG originated from its sister company AvSolutely, a purely web-based company serving the needs of the aviation industry. A function of AvSolutely is the design of web sites for aviation companies; the snowball effect led numerous clients, not related to the aviation industry, to AvSolutely for web development. The founding member, a pilot with marketing and design experience, resolved that AvSolutely would retain its aviation-related image and started a new company to cater for other industry markets.

With this in mind, Thomas Kellner, dedicated to providing the means for companies to embark on a web-presence strategy by providing quality service  and
products, founded ProDG early in 2001. ProDG is registered as a Closed Corporation, currently operates from Windhoek and has recently employed apprentice web-developers who receive on-the-job training.
Future Projections
Whilst the Southern African business environment has realised the importance of a web-presence for sustainability, the need for web-strategy based on the tenet of web-usability is not fully recognised. The current business environment is portentous for web development companies in Southern Africa due to the current upswing in the global marketplace and an industry, which is currently entering its shakeout phase. Companies (potential clients) are realizing that web presence alone will no longer suffice in the competitive environment. Web-design companies must extend their service and product range to meet the requirements of more informed and demanding customers, who require a website that supports their business. Web-designers who do not meet the increased standards and requirements to transform the website to a business tool, by offering superior service, will not remain competitive or sustainable entities.
